Royal Mail Price Hike

James | Thursday, 29 March 2012

Royal Mail have been in the news quite a bit over the last few days; postage prices are on the increase in a big way here in the UK. For a standard letter, a first class stamp is going up in price from 46p to 60p, second class increases from 36p to 50p. That is nearly a 40 percent price hike for second class.

OK, so Royal Mail have been loosing money for years and need to make prices work, however, when it comes to sending anything over 25mm thick up to 4KG in weight (Packet), Royal Mail have wiped out the first three weight classes, instantly increasing the costs of any packet weighing less than 250 grams.

This unfortunately means WoodPad for iPhone or Special order WoodPad for mobile phones will have to increase in price to cover the substantial additional costs of postage.
